As the main equipment for compounding production, the extruder is the most difficult and dangerous to operate. Today, we have sorted out some tips for you to keep in mind during the operation and debugging of the extruder, so as to protect safe and efficient production.
1. Before starting the extruder each time, check whether there are foreign objects in the barrel, above and below the hopper, and inside, check whether the fastening bolts of each part are loose, whether the safety cover is firm, whether the position of each button switch is correct, and then add enough lubricating oil to each lubrication part to clean the equipment.
2. Before starting the machine, check whether the temperature control is sensitive, whether the instrument fails, whether the cooling water circuit is unobstructed, etc. Usually, the thermometer and cooling water are used for detection.
3. Heat the screw, barrel and die of the extruder according to the operating procedures of the extruder. After the temperature rises to the set temperature, it must be kept warm for about 10 minutes before starting the machine, so that the temperature of each part of the machine tends to stabilize.
4. When preparing to start, notify the staff around the equipment.
Before starting the machine, be sure to tighten the connecting screws and bolts of each part of the die while hot. Before the material is extruded, the operator must not stand directly in front of the die to prevent the bolts or screws from breaking and causing injuries.
5. Start the motor driving the screw at a low speed and check whether the working ammeter pointer of the main motor swings normally. If there is an abnormal sound or the screw is not running smoothly during operation, stop the machine immediately and ask the relevant personnel to repair it.
6. The screw should not be run for more than 30 minutes. After everything is normal, connect the die head and pelletizing equipment. Install the connecting bolts of the die head. Apply a layer of molybdenum disulfide or silicone oil before use to facilitate disassembly.
7. In the early stage of production, the screw should be operated at the lowest speed, and the feeding should be small and uniform. Check whether there is any abnormality in the swing of the working ammeter pointer of the motor driving the screw at any time.
8. After the extruder is put into normal production, the operator should frequently check the temperature changes of the bearing parts. When checking the temperature of the motor and the bearing parts, use the back of your fingers to gently touch the inspection part. Do not touch any rotating parts with your hands during the operation of the equipment.
9. When disassembling and installing the screw and mold, do not directly hit the parts with a heavy hammer. If necessary, use hardwood to knock and disassemble or install.
10. When cleaning the residual materials on the screw, barrel and mold, you must use bamboo or copper knives, brushes, or professional water washing and air washing equipment to clean them. Avoid scraping the residual materials with steel knives or continuously roasting the parts with fire. Or use special screw cleaning materials for cleaning without disassembling the machine.
Instructions for operation when 9 kinds of raw materials are shut down
PS,SAN | Because hard glue has good thermal stability and will not decompose even if heated for a long time at a certain temperature, you only need to turn off the heat before shutting down. |
ABS | The thermal stability of this rubber compound is also good, and there is no need to push out and clean the remaining rubber compound in the barrel when the machine is shut down. |
PE | This rubber compound has good thermal stability and will not decompose when heated for a long time in the barrel, so there is no need to push out the remaining rubber compound in the barrel when the machine is shut down. |
PP | Similar to PE, but slightly less thermally stable than PE. |
PC | Due to temporary suspension of production (such as no night shift), the barrel must be kept at 160°C to prevent the rubber from getting wet. If the material needs to be changed, the barrel must be cleaned with PE, and the screw must be removed from the hot barrel and cleaned with a copper wire brush. |
PVC | This is a heat-sensitive rubber material. Before stopping the machine, first turn off the electric heating, then push out the PVC until the barrel temperature drops to 150°C, and then use another rubber material with better thermal stability to push out all the rubber material in the barrel. |
PMMA | Although the rubber compound is prone to thermal decomposition at higher temperatures, it has good thermal stability at normal temperatures, so you only need to turn off the electric heating when shutting down. |
PA | The thermal stability of the rubber compound is good. There is no need to clean the barrel or push the material clean when the machine is stopped, but the electric heating must be turned off immediately, otherwise the rubber compound will be easily damaged after 15 minutes. |
POM | It is heat-sensitive. When shutting down, adjust the pressure to zero ten minutes before turning off the electric heating, then inject continuously to push the rubber in the barrel out, and then clean the machine with PE. |
11. When dealing with extruder failure, the extruder is not allowed to start running. When the extruder screw is rotating and the mold is adjusted, the operator is not allowed to face the extrusion barrel mouth to prevent accidents.
12. When the extruder is in production, the operator is not allowed to leave the post. If you must leave, the extruder should be stopped.
13. After parking, disassemble the screw, clean the residual material and apply a layer of anti-rust oil. If it is not used temporarily, it should be wrapped and hung vertically in a dry and ventilated place.
14. Extruders and accessories that have been out of production for a long time should be coated with anti-rust oil and all inlet and outlet ports should be sealed to prevent foreign matter from entering.
